"Land of hope"

LAUSANNE - The world premiere of Land of hope will be at the Theatre Octogone in Pully (Lausanne), April 24 and 25. The new work by Linga, Swiss company guided by Katarzyna Gdaniec & Marco Cantalupo is ispireted by the iconoclastic work of writer Alda Merini, considered one of Italy's greatest poetess, a nonconformist and brilliant provocateur. Despite long and multiple stays in psychiatric hospitals, this artist's work is fiercely positive, insightful, and clear-sighted, like her aphorisms tinged with sarcasm.
In LAND OF HOPE, this hymn to resistance and resilience, imbued with hope, is carried by seven women, performers, and furious accomplices. Far from being stifled, their individualities are transcended, magnified, and embodied in a powerful, political, poetic, almost utopian group. Together, they offer us their breath and their creativity, but above all their confidence in the future. The dawn of collective joy.
There are days that don't come off the walls.
There are nights that never end.
I always light up others,
but I always remain in the dark.
I am a little angry bee.
Alda Merini
