Last Friday, Friedemann Vogel has been awarded the Verdienstorden des Landes Baden-Württemberg (Order of Merit of the State of Baden-Württemberg), Baden-Württemberg's highest civilian honour and among the most exclusive in Germany, permanently capped at just 1,000 living recipients.
Already a Kammertänzer - the highest distinction for a dancer in Germany - Friedemann Vogel is the sole representative of dance among 27 recipients spanning science, politics, sport, and business. He was recognised for his commitment to charitable causes and the service of science, as a role model, and above all as a passionate ambassador for ballet and the art of dance on the world stage.
The Stuttgarter Zeitung described this honour as going to one of Germany's most recognised cultural figures.
