Red Cross Gala in Udine: stars for charity

UDINE - Ballet stars under the banner of solidarity the 42nd edition of the International Dance Gala for the Red Cross, promoted by the Associazione Danza e Balletto in Udine: Midnight Raga by Marco Goecke, Kazimir's Colours by Mauro Bigonzetti, Passion Fruit by Robert Robinson, Left Behind by Fabio Adorisio and a creation for the evening signed by Massimo Gerardi, Skin Trade, are some of the novelties in the programme of this customary pro-Red Cross event, staged on the 8th of December at the Teatro Nuovo Giovanni da Udine at 8.45pm.

A parade of stars performing free of charge for children in need supported by the Red Cross, a dance event that has entered the list of the most qualified events in Friuli Venezia Giulia as an opportunity to see famous artists and emerging talents, protagonists of unpublished pieces, re-arrangements or ad hoc creations, virtuoso pas de deux of the ballet repertoire: Le Corsaire, Diana and Actaeon, The Talisman.

Returning to the gala are the Russian Liudmila Konovalova, Principal dancer at the Vienna State Ballet, and the Brazilian Flavio Salamanka, Salzburger Landestheaters, performing an excerpt from La Bayadère, The Kingdom of Shadows. Completing the cast of the 2023 edition artists from the Hungarian National Ballet Andras Ronai paired with Rebecca Storani former of the Ballet Nacional de Catalunya; from Stuttagart Ballet Alicia Garcia Torronteras and Daniele Silingardi (dancer to whom the Giuliana Penzi award for Dance will be awarded); Elisabetta Formento and Eunsoo Lee (Compañía Nacional de Danza in Madrid) Vivian de Britto Schiller and Riccardo Franchi (Volksoper in Vienna); Rosario Guerra and Louis Steinmetz (Staatsballett Hannover), Vito Vidovič from the National Dance Company Wales. Next to them the young talents of Académie Princesse Grace in Monaco directed by Luca Masala, Paloma Livellara Vidart and Martinho Oliveira.

The opening of the evening - dedicated to the founding principles of the Red Cross - is coordinated by Matilde Ceron (Musik und Kunst Wien), Nastja Bremec and Michal Rynia, directors of the MN Dance Company Slovenia. The event, a section of the project Presentare il futuro #danza FVG, is in collaboration with the Municipality of Udine, Region FVG and Danza&Danza.
