MONCALVO, ITALY  Here comes the second part of our focus on Luck/Unluck, the new two-part production by Gauthier Dance//Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart, featuring two of the world’s leading choreographers: Aszure Barton for “Luck” and Hofesh Shechter for “Unluck”.

We visited the studio at Orsolina28, where the company has been in residence, to catch a few moments of the behind-the-scene during the creative process of both choreographers (Part 1, ‘Luck’, is available on our YouTube channel).

We now present the second part dedicated to the work of Hofesh Shechter, who, exceptionally for a piece titled ‘Unluck’, defies his superstitious habits during creation by opening the doors of the studio to Danza&Danza troupe and allowing us to film the creative process. 

Choreography and music of his own invention, for eleven bodies swept away by rhythmic power and a mysterious force (a divine power or chance?) that causes sudden changes in direction and weight, even bringing them to a standstill. Suspended between explosive movement and fragility, the choreography of Unluck promises surprises.
